James Porter Obituary

James Neil “Jim” Porter, age 66 of Huntsville, AL passed away Friday November 8, 2019 at a local hospital. Jim Porter was born at Fort Sill, OK to George J. Porter and Joan Sheehan Porter. Jim enjoyed music and technology, and had worked for some years at the Von Braun Civic Center as a stage/sound technician.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Joan Porter, and his brother Jon Porter. Jim is survived by his brothers Thom Porter (wife Audrey) and Bob Porter (wife Lee), and his sisters Susan Flynn (husband Patrick) and Gi Eschenberg (husband Gary), as well as many nieces and nephews and life-long friends.

According to his wishes, Jim was cremated, with Hampton Cove Funeral Home assisting the family. A memorial celebration of Jim’s life will be held by his family on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the covered pavilion at the Green Mountain Nature Trail, 5000 Nature Trail Road, Huntsville, AL.
