Lydia Jean Smith

Lydia Jean Smith, age 83, of Guntersville, AL passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born in Huntsville, AL to James Oscar and Virginia Lee Ester Buck. She retired from Chrysler and attended Union Grove Free Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Franklin Smith; her parents James Oscar Buck and Virginia Lee Ester Atchley Buck; sister Alice Atchley; her brother Jerry Buck and niece Connie Lanier Jones. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son Hank Lynn Tart; honorary son Johnny Romine; daughter Cathy Jean Romine; sisters Lola Kate Buck, Ola Mae Buck, Betty Faye Schrimsher (Kenneth) and Doris Edwards; grandchildren David, Timothy, Christopher and Sarah; great-grandchildren Savannah, Chandler, Allison, Chase, Chloe, Laynie, Addison, Charlie and Cayson.
Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be held on Sunday June 2, 2019 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will follow at 1pm. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
