Her final days were spent surrounded by the love and care of the staff at Brookshire Nursing Home in Huntsville, where she peacefully passed away.

Betty's life was marked by her enduring devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her son, Harry "Hank" Fincher; her daughter, Janet Donald; and her adored grandchildren, Cassandra "Cassie" Chaney, Heather Hines, Amanda McAvoy, and Ginny Westbrook. Her great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Blake Landmands, Evan Chaney, Dorian McAvoy, James Westbrook, Brandon Hines, Kaylee Hines and Kenadi Hines will forever be inspired by her strength and kindness. Betty also leaves behind her sister, Naomi Hill, with whom she shared a lifetime of sisterly bonds and unforgettable moments. She was preceded in departure by her beloved husband, Harry Adam Hendricks; her parents, Bill and Weder Ophelia East Key; and her siblings, Lincoln, Basil, Billy Ray, Harold, Flora, Nora, Mora, and Ethel Key.

Betty's professional life was characterized by her role as the head of security at Huntsville Hospital, where she not only protected but also served as a pillar of support and comfort to those around her. Her colleagues cherished her presence, and she was admired for her unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Her interests were a reflection of her inner beauty. Betty's garden was a vibrant tapestry of color, showcasing her exceptional green thumb. She found solace in the simplicity of nature, often sitting to watch the birds and reveling in the tranquility of their songs. Her voice, a melodious and heartfelt instrument, could often be heard singing gospel music, an expression of her deep-rooted faith. Betty's dedication to her church was evident; she attended services with joy and reverence, embodying the love of the Lord she so passionately followed.
