Billy Marquardt Adair (Billy) was born on November 6, 1936 to John and Virginia Adair in Memphis, TN. He lived to be 86 years old and resided in Huntsville, AL. Billy passed away to go home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2023. He lived a long wonderful life full of incredible accomplishments. Graduated High School from Memphis Tech High and went on to the University of Tennessee where he obtained his degree in electrical engineering and obtained his masters in electrical engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was in the United States Air Force. He worked for NASA for 35 years as an electrical engineer from 1960 until 1995. His NASA missions included Apollo, Skylab, European Space Agency, Space Shuttle, Hubble Telescope, and Space Station. He also attained his private pilot license. Aside from these incredible career achievements he also loved to go hunting for which he shared his love of the sport with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren! Above all, he was an incredible father, mentor, and friend.
He is survived by his son Richard Adair. His three grandchildren: Dustin Adair, Joy Adair Lamb, and Melody Adair. Grand son-in-law Joshua Lamb and grand daughter-in-law Abby Adair. He has four great grandchildren: Grace Lamb, Evelyn Lamb, Ryder Lamb, and London Lamb.
Billy is preceded by his parents Virginia and John Adair, and daughter Darlene Adair. He is also survived by his brother John Adair who resides in South Carolina.
To honor Billy’s memory, we are holding a funeral service on [date] at Hampton Cove Funeral Home. We invite anyone who knew him to attend and remember his wonderful life
