Bracy Clanton Phillips

Bracy Clanton Phillips, age 96, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Phillips was born in Jacksonville, FL to Bracy Oran and Cappy Clara Phillips. He retired from the U. S. Army after more than 20 years of service. He served in both World War II and Korea and was given a Purple Heart for each of these wars in addition to other medals. Mr. Phillips met and married his wife Kay in Japan while he was stationed there. He has lived in Huntsville since 1974.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife Kay S. Phillips and his parents Bracy Oran and Cappy Clara Phillips. He is survived by his sons Edwin W. Phillips and his wife Donna of Washington, Floyd A. Phillips of Florida and Jeffrey C. Phillips of Madison, Alabama; brothers Ewart Phillips of Texas and Jerry Phillips of Florida; grandchildren Jessica Kay Scott, Matthew Phillips and Stephanie Phillips and five great-grandchildren.

A military memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home.
