CW3 Thomas Chambers Obituary

Thomas Gary Chambers, 72, passed away on February 7, 2022. He was the husband of Susan Buchanan Chambers of Gurley, AL. They shared 37 years together.

Born in Griffin, GA, he was the son of William Lee Chambers and Margaret Chambers Huckaby of Griffin. He joined the Army in 1969 and served our country in Vietnam with the 11th ACR and the first Gulf War. He was a 23 year veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Buchanan Chambers (Gurley, AL), his children, Deborah Ivie of Griffin, GA, Tracy (Jeff) Simmons of Milledgeville, GA, and Jaime (Matt) Fausnaugh of Dallas, GA; Grandchildren: Jessica (John) Roughen of Milledgeville, GA, Jeffrey (Casey) Simmons of Gordon, GA, Thomas Ivie of Griffin, GA, Ty Simmons of Milledgeville, GA, Chloe Ivie of Griffin, GA, and Emma Fausnaugh of Dallas, GA; his sister, Brenda Mann and his brother, Lamar Chambers of Griffin, GA, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
