James Higgins Obituary

Mr. James “Jim” Joseph Higgins, 72, of Huntsville, died peacefully on June 11, 2019. He was a devoted husband to his wife Ly Thi Thi Higgins. He was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts on May 6, 1947. After graduating high school he then entered the United States Army where he proudly served his country for 22 years. During this time, he served three tours during the Vietnam War. He retired as a first sergeant. Following his enlistment in the U.S. Army Mr. Higgins was employed at Redstone Arsenal as an Integrated Management Center employee where he was deployed 5 times, to Kuwait twice, then Mosul Iraq, then Kabul Afghanistan and lastly again to Iraq, to assist with equipment inventory and accountability.
Mr. Higgins leaves behind his Beloved wife Ly. He was the father of James Joseph Higgins, Jr, John David Higgins. He was the cherished brother of Pat Lomp, Cathy Higgins and Mary Higgins. He was grandfather to Erin Higgins, Logan Higgins, Parris Jones, adopted grandchildren Jessica Higgins, Zena Higgins, great-grandchild Isiah Higgins and adopted great-child Rebel Higgins. He was predeceased by a their daughter, Liza Ann Jones. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 16th, 2019 2:00 p.m. at Hampton Cove Funeral Home. Visitation at Hampton Cove Funeral Home will be Saturday Evening, June 15, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery, 6262 Highway 431 South, Owens Cross Roads.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery following the funeral service.
