Jimmy Curtis Boggs, age 85, of Harvest Alabama (formerly Woodford Virginia) fell asleep in death September 2, 2023 at the Tutt Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville Alabama. He also resided in Florida, Massachusetts and Texas.
Jimmy was born October 18, 1937 to George Washington Boggs Sr and Jessie Mincy Boggs in Lakewood New Jersey. Jimmy grew up in Spotsylvania Virginia. Graduated from John J Wright High School (1955) then spent over 3 years in the Navy.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years Marie Janet(Robinson) and his six children: daughter Karen Boggs Scales, daughter Theresa Boggs, son Troy Boggs, son George Boggs with his former wife Nettie Lee and son Keith Boggs and daughter Stephanie Boggs with his wife Marie; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many more friends and family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Harold and his former wife Nettie Lee.
Jimmy had a passion for gardening. He found great joy in working in the garden growing vegetables and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. His love of nature was only surpassed by the bond he shared with his service dog, Mason, who was a constant companion and source of comfort.
Jimmy’s great love for the earth and taking care of it was only heightened even more when he learned about the promise Jehovah God revealed in the Bible about the wonderful hope when very soon the earth would be restored back to a paradise. He also learned from his Bible study that there will be no more sickness, pain or death that he and so many people experienced. This knowledge moved Jimmy’s great love for Jehovah and newfound hope to dedicate his life to his God, Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 23rd, 1982. This hope was very precious to him and it was something he eagerly wanted to share with everyone whom he met. It’s what helped sustain Jimmy until he fell asleep in death.
Memorial Service will be held at the Harvest Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 7757 Wall Triana Hwy, Harvest, AL 35749 at a later date and time. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Harvest Congregation in memory of Jimmy Boggs.
