Linda Harpring Hogan, 72, of Huntsville, AL (formerly of North Augusta, SC),passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was the wife of the late Byron Brooks Hogan. A memorial service will be held locally in Huntsville, AL (date, time & location TBD) to celebrate her life with family and friends in the area before a service at Rehobeth Methodist of Lake Murray in Leesville, SC on December 9, 2023 (time TBD) where she will be laid to eternal rest. Linda was born in Terre Haute, IN, daughter of the late John Robert Harpring and Jo Ann Diehl Harpring. She lived in Orangeburg, SC and other cities throughout the state in her early childhood before settling in North Augusta, SC. She was a 1968 graduate of North Augusta High School and attended Aiken Technical School (Cosmetology) Class of 1970. She was a hairstylist in North Augusta for over 30 years. Linda was a lover of the South Carolina coast, an ice cream enthusiast, and a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, and reading. Linda had a passion for interior design and appreciated making things look beautiful and well-manicured, whether it was her green thumb, decorating her home, or her ability to make her clients feel and look their best. Linda is survived by her daughter, Amy Hunsicker (Adam) of Huntsville, AL and Mike Hogan (Rebecca) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Skylar Volinsky, Noah Hunsicker, Brooks Hogan, and Ayden Hunsicker; her siblings, Debbie Jones (Bobby), Larry Harpring (Melissa), and Johnny Harpring, all of North Augusta, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Jimmy Harpring. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Merrimack Hall.
A memorial mass will take place on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Tim officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 until service time.
Memorial services will be held at Rehoboth Methodist Church of Lake Murray 3676 Holley Ferry Road Leesville, South Carolina 29070 at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023. The family welcomes flowers at the South Carolina Service.
