Marie Haven

Marie Haven, 83 of Huntsville, AL passed away on June 25, 2020 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, AL.

Marie was born in Windsor, ME on May 17, 1937 to her parents, Russell and Mertie Elliott. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Grace Parlin, Dottie Genthner and Flossie York; her first husband, Melvin Andrew Haven and one son, Melvin Andrew Haven II.

Marie was a proud member of the National Honor Society. Marie married her first husband Melvin and lived in Burlington, MA where they raised their six children. Mel and Marie moved to Costa Mesa, CA because of a job transfer, and enjoyed many years living there. Another job transfer moved them to Huntsville, AL where they lived and retired. Marie’s husband, Mel passed away on December 19, 1998. Marie was fortunate to meet and marry Travis Hill on November 27, 2004. Marie and Travis enjoyed retirement by traveling the US and other countries.

Survivors include her current husband, Travis Hill; two sons, Ret. Col. John S. Haven II (Denise) of Colorado and Mark A. Haven of Decatur, AL; three daughters, Blanche Mangion of FL, Penny Meyers of ME and Lisa Jordan of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, John Haven III, Robert Soule’, Melissa Bryant, Brandon Meyers, Jason Meyers and Matthew Swedberg.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29th beginning at 10AM at Hampton Cove Funeral Home, 6262 H’way 431 S., Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763 with Chapel Service at 11AM and burial to follow in Hampton Cove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 13550 Chaney Thompson Road NE, Huntsville, AL 35803.
