Martha Wheeler Obituary

Martha Jo Wheeler, age 81 of Guntersville, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her home. She was born on August 16, 1942, in Oneonta, Alabama to Aubrey Rigsby and Louise Echols Rigsby. Martha was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to Gatlinburg on trips with her family and she was a member of the Red Apple Baptist Church in Boaz.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wheeler; parents, Aubrey and Louise Echols Rigsby; sisters, Gayron Allison and Inez Tibbitt; brothers, Lewis and Darrell Rigsby. She is survived by her loving children, Elaine Suggs of Guntersville, Joey Thompson of Guntersville, and Robert Thompson of Douglas; her grandchildren, Justin (Krystyn) Hibler of Gastonia, NC, Joshua and Jordan Thompson both of Douglas; great grandchildren, Aidan Hibler and Kendra Thompson.

The family has chosen cremation to honor Martha’s wishes and will have a family memorial service at a later date and time. Hampton Cove Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wheeler Family.
