Michael Churchill New, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Princeton, Alabama on October 7, 2021 with his wife, Leslie, by his side.
Michael was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1955. He grew up in Lake Village, Arkansas. After attending the University of Arkansas, he began what would become a lifetime career in the hardwood lumber business.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Rowland New, and his mother, Constance Rosamond New. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leslie Pomeroy New. The couple have three children, Anna New Cardwell (Bradley) of Huntsville, AL; James Allen New of Princeton, AL; and Molly Rosamond New of Atlanta, GA. He is survived by two brothers: Jay New of Dallas, TX, Eugene New of Lake Village, AR; one sister, Inez Barnes (Phil) of Hamburg, AR; and two granddaughters, Sydney and Salem Cardwell of Huntsville, AL.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 2 PM. It will be held at the home of Eugene New at 918 South Lakeshore Drive, Lake Village, Arkansas. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
