Norma Jean Grove-Moody returned home to her Lord and Savior early Sunday, November 20th, 2022 while a patient at Huntsville Hospital. There at the gate to also welcome her home was her brother Donald Nix, her parents Fred and Elsie Nix, and other family and friends that preceded her. Her love for Jesus was the melody by which she gracefully moved through this life loving, embracing, and sharing her light with family, friends, and all those she encountered. She loved the Scripture and talking about her favorite passages including Psalm 139. She was passionate, intentional, curious, intelligent, and funny. Her laugh was contagious and she was gifted in finding the silver in every lining. One of her beliefs was ‘to be where you are now’ and to be completely present in every moment. In this moment, she is face to face with her Lord.
Norma was born to her parents in Detroit, Michigan on May 27th, 1951. Norma is survived by her husband of 24 wonderful years, Donald Moody. Her daughter, Alisa Grove-Edwards & Marvin Edwards. Her Son and his wife Timothy and Janet Grove. Her grandson and his wife, Nicholas and Nichole Grove. Her great grandson, Elijah Nicholas Grove.
No amount of time is ever enough, although we are so very grateful that the Lord shared her with us for 71 years. Her eternal legacy of loving others and sharing her faith in Christ, as well as her zest for life and constant choice of joy and laughter will live on through us forever.
The family would like to invite all those that knew and loved her to attend her viewing at 9am and following service at 10am on Friday the 25th, 2022 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home located at 6262 Highway 431 S, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763.
She was an angel given to us for a short time. Mere words cannot contain the depths of sadness and enormous voids we feel by her absence. However, we count it all joy that she is free from this world to embark upon her heavenly journey where we know she awaits for us to join. We love you to the moon and back!
