Patricia Gail (Wilder) Gulick

Patricia "Pat" Gail Gulick was born to Jack and Sybil (Williams) Wilder on November 26, 1938 in Andalusia, AL and was a teacher for more than thirty years. She married Robert Earl Shaw and had two children named Catherine Leigh Shaw and Floyd Guy Shaw. On December 28, 1974, she married Paul Irving Gulick and together they raised eight children (Roland Richard Gulick, Charlene Louise Gulick (Paul's children by his first marriage to Sandra Estell Hall), Rita Paulette Gulick, Lisa Lorraine Gulick (Paul's children by his second marriage to Eloyce Louise Calderone), Deborah Calderone (daughter of Eloyce Calderone by a previous marriage), and Keith Allan Gulick/Walls. They raised eight wonderful children.

She died at home on May 1, 2022 after a six-month long battle with bladder cancer that eventually spread throughout her body. Right from the start she accepted the fact that she didn't have long to live. Right to the end, she remained a proud lady who inspired all who came in contact with her.

Pat was a person with a sparkling personality. She never met a person who didn't think highly of her witty and beaming personality and the way she carried herself through life.

Pat was a family genealogist who spent thousands of hours researching and recording her family which she freely shared with others. She also assisted people in developing their family trees. She was known by all to be the most reliable source of genealogical information. Pat had many sidelines in her life and excelled in all of them. She was a painter of pictures that were superior to many of those shown in museums.

Pat was preceded in death by her mother, father, and a sister, Joyce. She was also preceded in death by her stepchildren Roland Gulick and Deborah Calderone. She is survived by husband, Paul Gulick, six children, thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and many cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

A public Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on May 21, 2022, at Hampton Cove Funeral Home at 6262 US Highway 431, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763, The service will be presided over by Chaplain Randy Evers, Pastor of Point of Grace Church in Guntersville, AL. Following the Memorial Service and after everyone has had time for lunch, there will be an informal gathering at Paul Gulick's house for all who want to go and chat.
