Robert (Davidson) Davidson

Bob Davidson, 83, passed away peacefully on March 10th, 2023 surrounded by all his loved ones in his Huntsville, Alabama home.

            He was born December 8th, 1939 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was the youngest of four to Charles Augustus and Mary Eva Davidson, and determined at a young age to overcome asthma and did so by playing football for St Aloysius Catholic High School, where he later graduated in 1957.

            He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and General Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1962. Following his graduation, he was awarded a fellowship in mathematics and was soon after called into active duty in 1963, where he reported as a Second Lieutenant in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Shortly after being called on active duty, he and Mary Ellen Miller, of Biloxi Mississippi, were married. After two years of service, he worked on rocket boosters with Boeing and later became the Branch Manager of Digital Equipment Corporation in New Orleans, Louisiana.

            He and his beloved wife of almost 60 years moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1988, where he would later co-found Midsouth Consultant Group with his son in law, Brandon Tate. He was an active member (and breakfast supplier) at Aldersgate Methodist Church, where he also served as the Facilities Manager for several years.

            He is survived by his two adoring children and their families, Tim Davidson and wife Missy Davidson and Heather Davidson Tate and her husband Brandon Tate. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Austin Davidson, Taylor Davidson, Bailey Davidson, Miles Tate, Alex Tate, and Brooke Tate.

            He is survived by his brother, Dr. John (Jack) Davidson, and his family in Atlanta, Georgia.
