Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald H. Jones, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on March 24, 1942, in Elkwood, Alabama, Ronald passed away peacefully at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on August 30, 2023.

Ronald led a full and rewarding life. He leaves behind his wife of 52 and a half years, Beverly Gwin Jones, and their children, Ronald H. (Debbie) Hunter and Kelli (Mike) Cook. His legacy will continue to live on through his four grandchildren, Tucker Daniel (Brooke) Hunter, Erin Aubree Hunter, Mitchell Jones (Lauren) Hunter, and Andrew Sutton (Emma) Thomas, and his four great-grandchildren, Indiana Sutton Thomas, Evelyn Lucile Thomas, Jonah Elias Hunter, and Rowan James Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Angela Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman "Hack" Jones and Josephine Carter Jones, and his brother, James Marion Jones.

Ronald was a dedicated worker and community member. He retired from Chrysler Corporation as a line supervisor after 32 years of service, after which he worked part-time for 2 years at Huntsville Decorating. His dedication to his work was matched by his commitment to his community. He was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church, where he served on the bus ministry for 5 years and taught the 4-year-old class for 2 years.

Ronald was a man of many interests. He had a deep love for nature and found peace and tranquility in fishing. An avid coin collector, Ronald had a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for history. His passion for Alabama Football was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion in the Jones household.

Those who were fortunate to know Ronald would agree that he was a loving, faith-filled, and thoughtful man. His kindness was a beacon that guided his every interaction. His faith was unshakeable, providing him with a sense of purpose and guiding his actions. Ronald's thoughtfulness was evident in his everyday actions - always considering the feelings of others and going out of his way to lend a helping hand.

While we mourn the loss of Ronald, we also celebrate his life. His memories will forever remain etched in our hearts. His love for his family, dedication to his work, commitment to his community, and his various interests have left a lasting impact on all who knew him. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Ronald H. Jones. Your memory will always be a blessing.
