Serge Corvington, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024, in Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 71. Born on February 8, 1953, in New York, Serge grew up to be a man of exceptional character, renowned for his loving nature, thoughtful demeanor, and selfless acts.

Serge's life was one of dedicated service. In 1974, he joined the Army, embarking on a distinguished military career that spanned three decades. Throughout his service, he received numerous medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons that reflected his commitment and bravery. His unwavering dedication to his country and fellow soldiers was a testament to his strength and integrity.

After retiring from the Army in 2004, Serge continued to embody the values he held dear, pouring his energy into his family and community. He is survived by his devoted brother, Robert Corvington, and his cherished children: Serge Corvington III and his wife Misty, Tainé Corvington and her partner Zach, Serge Alfred Corvington and his wife Makayla, and Nathan Paul Corvington. Serge was a proud grandfather to Katlyn, Joey, Summer, Abigail, Naomi, Mia, Jacob, Ghyselle, and Wyatt. His joy was further multiplied by his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Brantley, Cade, and Axel, who brought him immense happiness in his later years.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Serge will remember him as a beacon of love and generosity. His presence could light up a room, and his genuine concern for others was evident in everything he did. A funeral mass will be held to honor Serge's memory on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning at 11:00am prior. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00am at Maple Hill Cemetery. His family then invites all who wish to share memories of Mr. Corvington to gather for a reception at 5:00pm Saturday evening at Clayton E. Moneymaker American Legion, Post 237.

Though he may have left this world, Serge's spirit will continue to guide and influence those he loved. His lessons of kindness, courage, and altruism will resonate for generations to come. Serge Corvington, Jr.'s departure is not just a loss to his family but to the many lives he enriched. He was a man who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
